Höije(1991) is a photographer and visual artist based in Estonia. Her works are primarily a combination of different photographs, where all the parts are taken by herself (not using stock photos or generating with AI). By that she believes that, the less equipment or opportunities we have the more creative we become. The artist's surrounding environment is a reflection of her inner world, and creating by using elements from her surroundings provides an opportunity to achieve the desired goal.
Inspiration she often gets is through momentary visions, whether half-asleep or fully dreaming. Therefore, her works are characterized by a dreamlike quality. Höije says that it is like walking a tightrope between realism and surrealism, and photography, with its authenticity, is an excellent medium for this.
